Regaining Upright Posture
Kyphosis is a condition characterized by excessive rounding of the upper back, commonly known as a “hunchback” posture. It can be structural (due to spine changes) or postural (due to prolonged poor posture). It often causes back stiffness, fatigue, and even breathing difficulty in severe cases.
We assess whether the kyphosis is flexible or fixed and build a treatment plan accordingly. Postural correction, spinal mobility exercises, back and core strengthening, and ergonomic advice are central to our approach. We also incorporate stretching of tight chest muscles and breathing training.
Whether it’s age-related, postural, or due to Scheuermann’s disease, physiotherapy can significantly reduce pain and improve appearance and function. With consistent therapy, patients often see better posture, reduced discomfort, and improved confidence in daily movement.
