Managing the Curve with Care
Scoliosis is a condition where the spine curves sideways, often appearing during adolescence but can also affect adults due to degeneration or injury. It can cause uneven shoulders, back pain, and postural imbalances. Early detection and proper management are essential to prevent progression and improve quality of life.
At our clinic, we assess the type and severity of scoliosis and tailor a treatment plan based on each case. Physiotherapy focuses on improving posture, strengthening core and spinal muscles, and correcting muscular imbalances. We use techniques such as the Schroth Method, targeted exercises, and breathing techniques to help improve spinal alignment and body awareness.
For growing children and teens, our goal is to manage the curve conservatively, potentially avoiding the need for surgery. For adults, we focus on pain relief, mobility, and preventing further spinal degeneration. Education, home exercises, and regular follow-up are all part of our holistic scoliosis care approach.
